pod bites: Delicious Alignment High Vibing Conversations with Rhonda Ryder

“When I was trying to make myself do more episodes, when I was trying to think what the other people wanted, it started to not be fun. And then I thought, well, if this is not fun, then I don't want to do it. That's the energy you're putting into it. If I'm putting stressed-out energy into my podcast, then other people are going to feel that as well.”

Alison: [00:00:00] Welcome to Pod Bites, where we go behind the scenes of podcasting. My name is Alison Fraser and my guest today is Rhonda Ryder from the Delicious Alignment High Vibing Conversations with Rhonda Ryder podcast.

So welcome on, Rhonda.

Rhonda: Thank you so much, Alison. So happy to be here.

Alison: I love the name of your podcast, Delicious Alignment. It already makes me feel like it's something that I would want to be part of.

Rhonda: Oh, wow. Thank you for saying that. I appreciate that.

Alison: Can you tell us what it's about?

Rhonda: Absolutely. Absolutely.

Well, I've been a student of the law of attraction for a very long time, and I love it. That's what I'm passionate about. I love exploring and expanding my consciousness and learning and growing and improving. I was guided to create a podcast. I just kind of [00:01:00] had this thought in my head, voice in my head, if you will, do a podcast, do a podcast. And finally, like, uh, most things I finally said, okay, I will do that.

And it did sound exciting to me and scary at the same time, but it is about the law of attraction and really getting in touch with your emotions. Learning how to become a master of your emotions and your, your vibration, so that your life, your happiness is not contingent upon circumstances. It's, it's more just a matter of, you know, you can be neutral.

You can be okay. You can be happy, happy, even no matter what's going on. I know it may sound crazy, but you get to this point where you, you are [00:02:00] so good at managing, you know, your vibration. And your emotions that you attract more, uh, more things that make you happy anyway. And when something does happen, for me, it, for me...

I can handle it better. Let's put it that way.

Alison: The law of attraction seems to be quite a bit of a buzzword at the moment. So many people talking about manifesting and are you finding that a lot more people are open to it these days than what they might have been in the past?

Rhonda: Yes, I think so.

There is a large, huge awakening on the planet. I feel that it's becoming more mainstream, a lot of these ideas. Whereas before, many people might think you were a little woo woo, or even... Crazy, my son still says I'm crazy, the [00:03:00] things that I believe in, but he's one of my biggest fans. When it's convenient for him, he'll try this stuff out.

Um, so yes, I do think that all, all of these ideas are becoming just part of the norm more and more.

Alison: What awesome things have you been able to manifest, do you think?

Rhonda: Well, I think we manifest everything, all the time, every second, we're always manifesting. So it's not like manifesting is a, is a wonderful magic trick or something.

It's like we are manifesting every single moment of every single day with our thoughts and our emotions. We are creating the experiences that we are living in. But to look at like specifics where I would say, oh, I manifested this. Well, I [00:04:00] manifested all of it. I manifested all of it, but some of the things are, that are more noteworthy perhaps is, you know, living here in Asheville, my dream home, my relationship with my husband, because a long time I thought I'll just be single forever, and that's okay, you know, that's, I was okay with that, and then part of me had a desire though for a partner, and so I did eventually manifest that.

So money, just coming to you out of the blue, from unexpected places, but mostly it's how I feel. Because I used to suffer from depression in my 20s and 30s and my teens and in 40s. So just being able to manifest happiness, [00:05:00] of course, it's not like, you know, constant up here, high vibration, bliss, but just being more steady, steady in my emotions, and then having these beautiful moments of, of bliss and really big happiness.

And then. neutral and calm. So just having more of a steady vibration, I would say is the most important thing to me because being in those lower vibrations or depression is no fun.

Alison: No, it doesn't sound like it, but yeah, let's, let's all try to manifest something that's uh, happy and makes us feel good, but you have guests on your show that you talk about similar things or do you like to explore manifestation?

What exactly do you do with your podcast?

Rhonda: Yes. Well, the first year I was focused on loving your body at any size and making peace with food because I [00:06:00] wrote a book about that. And that was my work. Uh. For three years, really focusing on that subject. And then this year, 2023, I wanted to branch out, I felt the, the nudge to branch out to all topics.

I've been coaching on that topic for three years and I do love that topic. I feel like I'm an expert in that topic, you know, from standpoint of the law of attraction and helping people, especially women learn to love their bodies because that, that was something that I struggled with for a long time.

And loving your body, it's not weight loss. It's about loving your body, yeah, at any size, and some people do actually, you know, do wind up manifesting a body, more fit body, smaller body, if that's something they want, it's whatever you desire. But this, this year, I just expanded out [00:07:00] to all topics, because I coach on all topics.

Because when I worked with someone about their body, or their relationship with food. We would always wind up talking about everything any and anything, you know, because it's all related yeah, so now I I just and plus I had a desire to talk about whatever I wanted to talk about on the podcast I just talk about anything because I love learning and I'm so curious I'm sure you are too.

That's why you do a podcast right Alison. You're curious

Alison: Do you find it easy to get guests on your show?

Rhonda: That is the easy part, and that's funny because a lot of people are surprised at that, but that is the easiest part for me, is to find guests. Like, I, that's just, I could do that with my eyes closed.

Like, I'm in a lot of different [00:08:00] Facebook groups that, where , my people are, or the, anyone that's interested in, you know, spiritual expansion, quantum physics, the law of attraction, manifestation, Abraham Hicks, so just, over time, you make and I've been in these different groups, coaching groups, mentoring groups where I just haven't met so many people.

So that is the easy part for me. Yes.

Alison: And what's the hard part?

Rhonda: The hard part is all the other stuff, right? That I don't want to do. The editing, the, technical stuff. My husband does the technical stuff. I now do the editing myself. Which I am happy about because... You know, just makes it easier instead of me trying to explain to somebody else what I want.

I can just go in there and do it, but it is time consuming and, [00:09:00] um, So I kind of have a love hate relationship with the editing. Uh, the hard part is, all the stuff that comes after the interview. Really?

Alison: Yeah, that's the thing with podcasting, isn't it? It isn't just, you know, creating the, the audio, there's a lot more to it.

Rhonda: Yes, there's a lot more to it. And then I did one program where they said you must do one episode a week, at least, minimum. And then, uh, yes, that is, that is kind of the same. Across the board. I think people are saying that the experts, the podcast experts, uh, also, you know, an hour on Instagram a day at least.

And that's, that's the really hard part because, and what I teach is not doing anything that's hard. What I teach is just is ease and flow. If it doesn't feel good, [00:10:00] then don't do it. Follow what feels good. So I am learning that myself with the podcast. Well, how can I farm this out or that?

Yeah.

Alison: I don't think there's any hard and fast rules really that you should follow with your podcast. I mean, it's your show. You should do what makes you feel happy and just grow with it.

Rhonda: it. Yes. Yes. I know. I get a little caught up in, well, this expert says that, and this expert says that, and the algorithms and the SEO.

And so that's where I'm applying what I'm learning about the law of attraction to, yes, have more of an attitude like you, uh, Alison, that, that is really. Really the way to be. Yeah.

Alison: Yeah, because I think if we try to copy other people, we end up losing who we are in this.

Rhonda: Yeah exactly.

Alison: You gave some really good tips before, um.

You [00:11:00] know, when you're starting out doing your podcast, what would you say to someone who is thinking about starting a podcast? What have you learned along the way that you'd like to share?

Rhonda: Yeah, I think that it is, it's a project. I mean, it's. It's a little bit labor intensive, so just know that going in, but also know that there are people that will help you, that are affordable, that will do everything for you, so it's just a matter of how much do you want to do.

Um, everything is super easy these days. I'm on Buzzsprout, but I'm lucky, I'm spoiled in a way, my husband does all the behind the scenes stuff for me, mostly, except like the editing that I do. But I found this software called Descript, it's D E S, you're familiar with it?

Alison: I am, yes, I use Descript.

Rhonda: Yeah isn't it the [00:12:00] most amazing thing ever? I'm so excited to find that.

Alison: Yeah. I use that. I use that to do my editings and I'll put a link to that in the show notes if anyone wants to look into it. But yeah, that's, that's, that's a great tool for people to use.

Rhonda: Yes. Because I really didn't want to learn how to do editing using the DaVinci, whatever my husband uses.

I don't, I don't even know, but this, I can edit it like a Word document. So, and it's so easy but just knowing, okay, this is labour intensive, but I, um, I can form some of it out and, uh, just follow your heart.

I started getting into this trap of trying to think about what my audience wanted. And trying to be what other people might want me to be. [00:13:00] Meanwhile, I found that when I made a show that I would like to listen to, then all the other people that are interested in the same things as me, my audience, would, they love it

I'm doing a show that I enjoy. I

Alison: I think that's the number one, you're the second person I've spoken to in the last couple of days who has said, create a podcast that you would want to listen to.

Rhonda: Hmm. Yes. Yes. It's, it's been much more freeing approaching it that way and more fun because then it started to not be fun.

When I was trying to make myself do more episodes, when I was trying to think what the other people want. it started to not be fun. And then I thought, well, if it's, if this is not fun, then I don't want to do it. Yeah. And that's the [00:14:00] energy you're putting into it. If, if I'm putting like stressed out energy into my podcast, then other people are going to feel that as well.

Alison: Yeah. So make it fun. And the listeners will hear that it's fun and everyone will get it, have an all round good experience.

Rhonda: Yes, absolutely. Yeah.

Alison: Are there any podcasts you listen to that you'd like to share with us?

Rhonda: Sure, I listen to Cathy Heller for some, sometimes podcast information. She's very motivational, but now she's gotten into more spiritual, more metaphysical law of attraction, quantum physics, I mean, she's, she's a very famous podcaster.

Then, uh, next level soul. I have just found that one, Alex Ferrari. And [00:15:00] I am loving that, that he's interviewing people who channel and also people who have had near death experiences and then they tell their, uh, their stories and their experiences from that. I'm thinking to go in that direction as well, interview more people who channel, mix it up a bit.

So I'm, his, his is doing amazingly well, his podcast. He also has a It's on a large YouTube channel. The podcast is on there as well. Cool.

Alison: Yeah, there's, there are so many different podcasts out there that whatever interests you have at the time, you can most likely find a podcast that, that suits that.

Rhonda: Yeah, and I recently did a, another, like somebody was doing a boot camp, a boot camp, podcast boot [00:16:00] camp, Stephanie Gass.

I didn't sign up for her program, but I just got so much out of the free boot camp and she's really talking about the importance of micro nitching down and I'm kind of thinking, I'm thinking about that. How would I do that? How would I micro nitch? Down even further, but we'll see.

Alison: Well, it's your show you can take it in whatever direction you want.

Rhonda: Yes. Thank you for that.

Alison: My pleasure. Mine, I mean the show that people are listening to now, this one, pod bites, it started out as something else and you know, it's just evolved and who knows what else it will evolve to over time.

Rhonda: Exactly. Yeah, it does evolve. I've already changed the subtitle once, you know, because it was the first year it was about [00:17:00] loving your body and food. So, and it's changed once already. Yeah. Maybe I'll just change it every year. We'll have a new theme this year. I like that idea.

Alison: it's been awesome chatting with you, Rhonda, and learning more about your podcast and, you know, the lessons you've learned along the way. And I think a lot of people can, can learn from you. Thank you.

Rhonda: Thank you so much. I appreciate you inviting me to be on the show.
